With Boots wimping it out with a note from his Mum (or Puss), Spocky stepped in last night as a volunteer to lay today's trail, and chose to ignore Boots' planned route completely. We were promised a one and on (lazy) trail with the shorts being quite short, and there longs quite long.
There was a lot of shrieking at the start of the trail, and I'm not sure whether it was the dogs, or whether it was Runner Bean, Chipmunk, and Itzy who were particularly loud!
The trail took us no more than a mile from the car park, looping round the tracks and paths and confusing the pack. There was a long-short split almost straight away, with Bollards taking her own route back to the start instead of following the trail. By the time we got to the sweetie stop, we were back within spitting distance of the start.
A little later, Bollards wasn't having a good day, having completely missed three dots from a check, with noone choosing to doubt her. At least it kept the pack together as the front runners double checked all the possible trails.
Soon we were all safety back home with Son of the Bitz given a down down and a special rendition of happy birthday for his 10th on Tuesday.
