#1053 Teignmouth - Wide Receiver - 29 May 2022

Thanks to Wide for today's trail. Don't forget to rate it! We'll use the votes for the awards at Christmas. https://cityofexeterhhh.blogspot.com/p/rate-hash_3.html?m=1

Both Bollards and I were desperate for a we by the time we arrived at East Cliff CP. We didn't realise that they'd knocked the toilets down!  Anyway, more of that later. Wide kindly marked out our spae as 'e-cars only', shame it was after we had parked there. Bollards forgot her trainers, although I got the blame for not checking.

We welcomed David Tennant aka Tight's brother to the trail!

The trail took us up hill first, up the main road before heading into Eastcliff Park. At this point I stopped for a wee behind a big tree just off the path, and just as I was shaking dry, Wide appeared the other side of the tree to put a mark down. He didn't see me, so my "Hello" from the bushes suprised him, and I got a down down for this later.

Then we did a few loops of the park on various long short splits, at least one of them I got wrong, probably where I met Wobbly and Oddbitz coming the other way. I emerged from the undergrowth to hear Spocky telling me to go the other way. Once I'd got round, it was time for the sweetie stop - see photo.

After this, Wide announced that it was 'on down' but just momentarily, because the longs headed straight back up Eastcliff Walk. By this point Bollards was getting really desperate, so once we found a spot with good visibility in both directions, she crouched and let the floodgates open.

Then back into the park and back down to the sweetie stop, before heading onto the sea front, another long-short, up to the pier, down onto the beach, back up onto the wall again, down along the lower promenade (avoiding the fishermen) to the Back Beach. Another long-short, into the town, past the station (which might have been the wrong way) and on home.

Tight brought along some of her favours fridge cake for afterwards! Shame it wasn't warm and sunny enough for a picnic on the beach!

Next week we're just up the road at Bishopsteignton for a Jubilee BBQ at Menage's. Park at The Lawns https://maps.app.goo.gl/oYdZ6HevsQCqeMYS6
