#1202 Kennford - Hotlips and Zoot - April 6 2025

We met at the dodgy end of Kennford, near the weighbridge. Great to see Sorepoint and Paperwork back in the UK. And nice to see Mooner again.

On the hottest Sunday of the year, I decided to bring the coffee machine, which via my new gadget, I was powering off the car. But most people I offered coffee too were worried that it might get then going, in a way that you don't necessarily want during a trail.

The trail set off towards the village centre then up across the field and the first lot of stunning views. The footpath came out by Kenbury Woods, and then up and right along Old Dawlish Road to the long short split.

The long was a long long, taking us towards Exminster, then back again... and didn't see anyone (other than Bollards, and Spocky in the distance) for about 3 miles! Although we did see and hear lots of sheep and lambs. Spocky was running back along the trail as well approached the sweetie stop, which was outside the Ley Arms. We thought we were at the back of the longs, but there were many behind us; enough time for Wide and me to get a pint in the pub and drink most of it before they arrived!

And with 4 miles on the clock, we were nearly home. With a bit of drama as Wide rescued a rabbit from the jaws of a cat, and Bollards then kicking it (gently) to run back into the field.

And that was that. Spocky took the closing circle as Tight had to get home to do some "litter picking".

Next week we're at Cofton Holiday Park; please let me know if you're like me to get you a place at our table for Sunday lunch!
