Belstone - Belltoll - 29th March 2015

I remember hoping last Sunday, that today would be a sunny day, so that we could enjoy a trip to Dartmoor on a warm Spring day, and even a bit of paddling in the streams.  Not a chance.  The car was buffeted on the journey up the A30, but that was only the start.

Castle Car Park, Woodbury Common - Oddbitz and Wobblybitz - 22nd March 2015

Well I moaned last week about the temperature, but this week I was too hot!  It was a Spring-like day for Wobbly-bitz's virgin lay.

We circled up in the sun for Wobbly's chalk talk, and there was some confusing information about the second long-short.  I didn't understand it, but I didn't see to suffer any consequences.  I did remember that all the longs were "runners longs", and they weren't wrong!  The hares had forgotten how many road crossings there were... was it one or two??  But Spocky helpfully pointed out that there really must be two!

Sunday, March 15

Ellerhayes Bridge - Fancy Liquor and Armless - 15th March 2015

Why can't the weather just get warmer?  There was another chill in the air at Killerton.  We met in the usual car park by the bridge.  Fancy Liquor and Armless didn't know whether the hare t-shirts were going to be brought along, so they wore wigs (hares) instead!

Swan's Nest, Exminster - Zoot and Hotlips - 8th March 2015

The chalk talk promised a flat hash – no one believed it, but for once the hares were telling the truth.  The trail took us over the marshes towards Exminster village and back along the canal path, with a couple of long/short splits for good measure, and nice big flour marks so we knew that we were heading in the right (or wrong) direction.  An excellent selection of sweets were provided at the sweetie stop, then on we went with the shorts heading back across the marshes and the longs taking a slightly longer route along the canal and up the lane back towards the Swans Nest.  Swinger was wearing a green tennis dress (I’d never seen one of these things before).  I’m amazed she didn’t get fined for it; but anything goes on the hash.

Sunday, March 1

Hanlon's Brewery - Groucho - 1st March

Being Grizzly Sunday, we were expecting a small turnout. But 17 hashers turned up on this almost warm Sunday morning - obviously those intelligent enough to realise that 20 miles of vertical climbs and pebbly shoreline is a silly idea.  We welcomed back Fruity-bitz who was spending a few days back in Devon before returning to Ireland next week.
