Muttersmoor, Sidmouth - Woodpecker and Mad Max - 3rd May 2015

A few familiar faces were missing this morning; perhaps tempted elsewhere by the beautiful bank holiday weather(!).  Fortunately, the rain stayed away for the duration of the trail, with just a little drizzle as we were driving off afterwards.

There were a number of new faces, duly introduced in the opening circle where Woodpecker read out his extensive list of instructions.  I'm sure they weren't confused at all.
The pack was well managed around the trail by appropriate use of back-checks and fish-hooks and the views were stunning.  Twin peaks found herself a seat with a view in the woods.  It was a great photo opportunity, but once the shot was taken, we abandoned her to get down on her own.  There were several opportunities to climb through undergrowth and snag your feet on ground level vines, but no fallers (that I noticed).
Back at the cars, we were joined by Coffin and new baby Annabelle for the closing circle.
Don't forget to RATE THE HASH!

Next week's trail is from Newton Woods (Tinpit Hill) Newton St Cyres (click for map)
