#1190 Wonford Sports Centre - Happy Snapper - 19 Jan 2025

A grey day, and the hare wasn't well. Happy Snapper laid it yesterday and just popped up at a couple of points on the trail. We welcomed Hang-10 who hadn't hashed for 20 years, plus Hannah and Leo.

It was a mostly road trail with a good few long-shorts splits. A long straight away around Ludwell Valley Park, and then up past Quarry Lane and across Honiton Road. Sweetbriar Laver next and then a right past the allotments for the long and up some steep steps. Then Thornepark Rise, and back on Sweetbriar Lane, along which all the cars seemed to have been keyed! The sweetie stop wa opposite the Cemetery.

Happy Snapper was obviously one step ahead of us, with her bike parked opposite with the sweets. But not locked to anything! Hang10 went over to investigate whether there were any sweeties and raided her pannier bag, but he said that's ok because he a member of a bike charity!!

By this point, we'd seen the WhatsApp message from HS telling us about the sweets, and she appeared walking towards us, and took the hash flash.

Then on on through the cemetery for the longs, and into Heavitree for the pub stop at the Horse and Groom (at least for some of us).

From this point, I did the short, which took us through the RD&E and Wonford House, and soon home.

A big thanks to HS for laying despite being ill, and thankyou for keeping your distance as bit to spread it around!!

Next week we are at Four Firs, Woodbury Common for a trail laid by Belltoll.
