#1143 Honiton - Pearl - 11 February 2024

Words by Speedy this week.

This weeks trail was from the spoons in Honiton laid reluctantly by Pearl. Last night the hare had been messaging on Whatsapp saying asking if anyone was actually coming as he wanted to do some grizzly training on the common. Despite this there was actually a decent turnout on today’s run with the return of Speedy (me) who was on a bender locally and had come to stay with the parents.

We started the trail by running under the railway bridge and along the stream by millennium green. We ran along the back lanes before going through a graveyard where we looked at the graves. The pack was then split in half by some cows coming being herded up the footpath but it wasn’t long before everyone was back together for the sweet stop. At the sweet stop we had a debate on how we should award trail of the month as there was no clear winner from last month. After the sweet stop we were more than half way through the trail and we ran through the Gissage before heading back to the pub for the circle.

We enjoyed the variety the hare offered in terms of length with 11 long short splits allowing for 2048 different trail combinations.

Down downs went to Spocky for just going straight to the pub and Pearl, for not getting his priorities right.

Thanks for a really great trail Pearl  and on on until next time.

NOTICE: please could everyone fill out the poll on Whatsapp for COEH3GOT (city of Exeter H3 goes on tour). It would be great to know how many people are up for going up to Bristol.

Next week we're at Uphams Plantation, Woodbury Common, for a trail laid by Howlin' Wilf.
