Wonford Sports Centre - Happy Snapper, Dark Lord & Humpty

Probably the coldest Sunday this side of Summer. We circled up and waited for the Bitz's to arrive, which they eventually did, with Spocky blaming XBitz, and Son of the Bitz blaming himself.  The hares told us about the multimedia and multicoloured trail, and Dark Lord explained that he'd used sawdust on the windiest weekend of the year.

The trail took us past one of last night's drunks, across Topsham Road, then heading up stream to Salmon Pool bridge and Duckes Meadow. From there, the longs ran over the river, back past the Double Locks to Countess Weat, and to the car park at the bottom of King George V playing fields. A sweetie stop there, photo below, with the first showing Spocky and Wide pulling their tummies in, and the second photo relaxed!

Then we were soon heading back up to Topsham Road, and the longs up Ludwell Valley towards Pynes Hill, then back along the valley bottom towards home.

In the circle the hares were thanked for their great trail, and there was discussion of sweaty cracks, pegging and glory holes.

We don't know where next week's trail is, but it's laid by Coffin and Emelda!

Little Haldon - Coatcheck - 14 November 2021

A perfect autumn's day up at Little Haldon (not Big Haldon), next to Teignmouth golf course. The what3words location seemed to have done the trick as we met successfully at a crossroads. Happy Snapper suggested we circled up on the nicely cut patch of just off the road (the green!).  Spocky led the pack in a Remembrance Sunday commemoration of the contribution of servicemen and women in conflicts.

Then we were off, together at first, down the road alongside the golf course, before the shorts went off right, while the longs continued down and down and down, nonstop along the road for about 2 miles! We met the hare perhaps where we could go no lower,  giving us directions on to a track at which point we climbed slightly to the village of Luton for the sweetie stop. We were greeted there by a snappy dog behind a gate, so we had to hide to stop it barking. A lady came out to see what was going on, and then wanted to take her car out. She directed us where stand out of the way, and Hot Lips offered to help her reverse out. Not sure what she thought of that as she's probably been doing it for decades, and XBitz didn't think much of his offer either, shouting "sexist pig!!".

After about 15 minutes the rest of the back markers arrived, we had the hash flash (taken by Happy Snapper) and we were off again. Past The Elizabethan and up a very steep and long road towards home. The longs had a bit of a detour across the old airfield.

In the circle, the hare nearly got a down down for passing breweries and pubs without stopping, but it went to Hot Lips for his sexist remarks!

Next week we're at Slapton FSC Start Bay for the Autumn Gathering.

AGPU - Exminster - Bollards & Rocky - 7 November 2021

A trail around the Minster today, hared by Bollards and Rocky. The long was about 4 miles taking us around the houses and lanes of the village. A sweetie stop on the Bowling Green (otherwise know as the quiet, reflective are, at least before we arrived), and then an On Down to the Oak for the AGPU.

At the AGPU, Spocky took all the credit for all the good stuff, and blamed all the bad stuff on the minions ;-). Everyone was voted in for another year, so Spocky as GM, me as On Sex, Tight as Hash Haberdash and Hare Raiser, Speedy as Sheriff and Bollards as Hash Cash. Subs remain the same as last year (£20/£10). The Awards will be a reduced affair given the cost of enscribing the names, and the Xmas hash will be at today's venue, the Royal Oak.

On on to next week, at Little Haldon, just before the golf course on the way to Teignmouth.
